Anybody else been having trouble with Clark Forest SuperTack bio chain oil?

Despite (or perhaps because of!) me posting on a recent thread that we've been using Clark Forest SuperTack bio chain oil for a couple of years now with no issues, we've been having loads of problems with oiling just recently.

 

I used to run the saws with the oiler on medium but over last couple of months have ended up with every saw on maximum.

 

Even so, last week both the 200T's stopped oiling - despite them being checked the weekend before.

 

Petrol would run through - or even if just a little fuel mix was added to the oil tank. But as soon as just the bio oil - nothing.

 

I have just rung Clark Forest to ask if they have changed the formula recently but they said they are unaware of any changes and have not had other complaints.

 

Am fed up with these issues so have decided to switch back to mineral oil for a month or so to see if oiling problems clear up.

 

Anybody else been having similar problems?

i think it would be considerate and fair to Clarks to get your saws checked out properly to make sure the oilers are working, and if they are, then try another oil before ( instead of petrol which has very little similarities) before pointing the finger of blame at the suppliers.

Also, in this cold weather, you may want to cut it with some rapeseed to thin it.

Ive had exactly the same problem using it in my 2 ms260's, been mixing in a bit of petrol to thin it down so that it will go through the pump, next barrel I get I will be back on oregon!

I have been using Clarks bio oil for years and never had a problem, I just got a new drum the other day and it's fine. Clarks are a good firm and if you speak to Yvonne I'm sure she would sort it out for you. Let them have a chance at least:)

if you need to thin it down you got shite in yr tank & pump ,strip it down a clean it out job done

Brand new pump on one of my 260s and they have both already been cleaned out, which made no difference, its definitely a problem with the oil!

is the drive working on the saws, them 26,s have a habit of waring the drive out

If it is the oil and you can say that without doubt then I'm sure Clarks will swap it or refund you. Have you asked them?
