It was my understanding there was a tacho exemption for agricultural and forestry businesses delivery own goods within 100km of their base.

So if your business harvests the trees, processes them to firewood then delivers locally you should be exempt from having a tacho. Could be wrong...

you are wrong you can haul round timber back to your yard but if its ready split logs for sale it has to have a tacho even if your hauling them to your yard and not to a customer it must be on the tacho.

On what basis? I've gone by the information from the below and cannot find anything to the contrary. Forestry activity, within defined distances. Seems clear cut. Why is split logs different to any other agricultural or forestry product?

page15 of the VOSA document on lithographs (revised 2011 GV262 - 03) does not suggest this is a problem at all (under 3.5t)

from the mouth of the vosa guy who was charging me for overloading, he ran through some of the things we needed to watch out for and the problems of whether a tacho was needed or not and hauling timber ready processed needed a tacho no matter where you were hauling it to but rounds did not need one.
