Your all wrong, the other axe is fr splitting cedar shingles fr roofing and such like, get a nice cedar log log an a mallet an see how many thin shingles youll get out of it, lots of fun

I suspect its to give weight without being wider or thicker, so it will allow a narrow deep felling cut.
