Try a company that sells dozer tracks and chains.... They also sell wear tips and blades..... Local sawmill uses the cutting edges on splitters, you will have to re machine a double bevel though, as the usually are single bevel...

Oops typo it's 150mm not 1500mm :blushing:

 

I did spend a few minutes stretching my arms out in the front room getting strange looks from the wife trying to work out if you needed a blade or a ships keel. 😊

Sorry that's a lot bigger than I thought you would need. Woodberry Chilcott Plymouth would be worth a call. I have bought several pieces of special steel from them in the past and they have always been helpful. Explain what you need it for and they will do their best to sort it for you. That will be a fair chunk of money though. Can you go thicker rather than stronger.

 

Woodberry Chicott are no more but been bought out by Barrett Engineering Steel South West Limited. On the plus side they think they can get me some hardend steel suitable for the job so thanks Cornish :thumbup1:

 

Aparently Hardox is a brand but there are many other similar steels out there.
