I have a super cab ranger with a tipping chip box on the back, as has been said it's not perfect as it's payload is quite small. I like that my tools are locked in the alarmed cab section and that it has 4x4 whilst not being a pig on the road. I find this with a 10x5.5 tipping trailer that I can put the chipper on works for me. Just what works for me, not sting it would be right for others.

 

 

 

I too run a similar setup with a Greenmech on the rear of an Ifor trailer, alas me truck and trailer doesn't tip though !!! Can be soul destroying at the end of a hard day to have to shovel off all that chip :lol:

Without a 4x4 tipper on today's job it would have meant a drag of about 500yds, I wouldn't be without one.

I think the 4x4 tipper makes sense, get your trailer license , fit a tacho and you have a legal 7 ton gross work truck. Ticks plenty of boxes from where I am sitting.
