Put a vent in wall close to ceiling in kitchen where stove is connected to inline fan switched on/off by room stat , ducted to sitting room. Don't know why but results were disappointing, 100mm ducting maybe too small, only a short run aswell😠

I made this up using the fan from a beer cooler and 12V wall wart. It seemed to work fine but I haven't got round to cutting a 100mm hole in the wall. Plan was to take from above the Jotul through to floor level of lounge, following your post I may rethink.

I think inline fan is maybe too fast and cooling the air as it shifts it! Bigger dia ducting and a slower fan might be better, but I'm no expert, obviously!!! all I know is kitchen is like an oven and sitting room like a fridge!!

We have the same thing in our house. We just open all the internal doors and the house warms up?

Heat goes out into hallway and straight upstairs in our house, doesn't make it to sitting room.

Thought it was you that had one Jon, just wasn't sure. Do they move the heat into other rooms like the OP wants?

HI BOB sorry for late post yes they do mate ours is a ECO FAN LARGE ONE and they are great mate thanks jon

House 5yr old, stove 21kw (11 rads) , room 5.2m x 3.6.

How's things Jon?

HI MULL and it still cool with a 21kw your running rads off stove yes as 21kw is not giving out full power to that room you no that yes what make is the stove were running a 16kw and it a great stove 16kw out to room we had 8/10kw out to room that was no good at all mate thanks jon

Aarrow Stratford Jon, stove is excellent, think rads are a bit small maybe! Was getting tightfisted by that stage of the build.😀

Half right. Bigger diameter duct but with a fast fan. Air flow and difference in temp between the two rooms is key.

I have used this principle to cool an insulated light room by venting the unwanted heat. It depends on how much heat you want to shift but the principle is sound.

One thing to consider is if you duct air away it needs to be replaced, additionally putting air into a room means some air needs to go.Therefore a duct in both directions might be an advantage.
