Anyone use this combo i just bought some Aeris as it is really cheap and thin but the SJ won't grip on it I'm using a nearly new SJ so it's not the body or the clutch that's slipping ?

I understand that it's shiny and new but still should grip.?

mine grips on aeris fine, we often put the sj on aeris at the shows with no complaints, runs really smooth, i have at least 6 clients running the sj on aeris too, stumped............... have you used the sj on 13mm rope? even if you used it a bit it might have worn a wider profile in the cam, still i would've thought it'd grip

Sometimes takes a little bedding in for it to grip properly, if that fails try a new cam. As loler said even a small amount of use on fatter rope can cause issues. Even as little as going tachyon-velocity generally doesn't bode well in my experience.

Just out of interest, what do people think of Aeris? I was given 45m (new) and use it for a while DRT but the cover seemed to wear rapidly. I was also told not to use it for work positioning as it is labelled static, although it was stiff it seemed to me as though it was not 'static rope'. I now mainly use it for SRT access.

I've got a few spiderjacks now and I have one with a really worn body and a newish one and they both responded roughly the same way only running It a cambium saver. The SJ's have run 11.7 for there lifetime. The rope does feel thin but it is 11mm as required will try and get a video. Pain in the bum really

I was also told not to use it because it static, I run it drt with a hitch climber and love it, and like that it is a little static
