Large hollow log wanted.

Been asked for a large hollow log for making a glass topped table. I don't have anything remotely suitable but thought it worth an ask on here. Apparently fairly flexible on size but suspect it needs to be at least 24" diameter. Something like this

Alternatively if you have some wood but don't want to part with it anyone fancy a commission? :thumbup1:

So there are some suitable lumps out there.

I will PM Ed. Thanks treequip.

J it's £70-£80 for the pallet but what would you be looking for the wood? Just a ballpark figure would help to find out if they are serious or looking for something cheap.

Thanks

Might be a bit big for you? This one is 4ft dia. The hollow only goes in about 4/5ft ish, and its solid at the butt end. I'll get a better photo later.

That looks the dogs danglies if they after a dinning table. Was given a vague description of size so will find out exactly what they want as there seems to be a variety of sized logs available.

Sorry to have been wasting peoples time.

Probably about £200 for the timber. I'd send 5 foot of the stem though - it's covered in burrs and would be 4ft in diameter at the base and 3ft at the top. It also has a great dark reddy brown colour, as it was felled live.

Just what I've been looking for that, a bee keeper I know wants me to find just that sort of thing to make an artificial/natural beehive.

Just a wee bit far away me thinks!
