Have a google for "yield class". It gives typical volumes of timber that is produced per hectare per year.

Be aware that "yield classes" are normally calculated over a longer time frame than 20 years - obviously young trees will have a lower growth increment than older trees.

Not sure I would be planting ash if you want it there in 20yrs,

16acres = 6.6ha

6.6ha @ Y.C6 = 39.6tons per year

39.6t x 20yrs = 792tons total volume (this will be an over estimation as you will have failures and a lot of timber by year 20 will still be unusable as firewood)

792t / 16acres = 49.5t/acre

Plant a sweet chestnut coppice interspersed with oak to grow as standards and draw successive crops of chestnut up straight

Fencing/garden furniture making material or stove firewood.

Suss your soil type out first ash (if you didn't have to worry dieback), birch n oak will grow well pretty much anywhere, but chestnut and some others may not fare so well on the wrong soil.
