  5. I am sure there are some of you who are well traveled, I am hoping you can shed some light on this for me, a friend of mine has just purchased a house in france(Ruffec to be precise), he has been to see a local firewood merchant and was quoted 40 euros a stere, what is a stere???? please explain. Thanks:confused1:
  6. It would obviously depend on where you are and the cost of the haulage, I will measure how many cube(loose) the lorry body is tomorrow.
  7. I maybe in a position to supply 8 wheeler bulk tipper loads delivered of processed logs of your desired length, as long as they are between 10" to 20", the logs would be either Oak, Ash or Beech, I haven't done any costings yet, just wondering if this would be of interest to anyone?
  8. yep, i'm up for that, if we don't do something our days are numbered.
  9. I'm not sure but I think it was some one in the forest that had those lots there and the main of the large lots went to Till Hill(certainly wood).
  10. certainly wood is my guess, I heard till hill had the go ahead on buying it at any cost, no hope for the small firewood merchants, we should all club to gether and out bid them next year:lol:
  11. yes I will run out very soon, started with 250 cube and only have around 50 left................
  12. you just gotta go straight to 11:50, its when he starts quoting phrases like "full power" and "full speed" and the best is "I don't have to be afraid"
  13. Hi all, hope you are all well? I am looking for cord wood,Ash, Birch, Beech, Sycamore etc. I can collect in 25 tonne loads or you could deliver, looking for at least 10 loads(250 tonnes) please call me 07811145269:001_smile:
  14. I was at the auction and bid on that very same lot and some others, the beech that your talking about I looked at before the auction, its all big stuff and cut to very random lengths, its all going to be saw and splitter work and for it to make the money it did is just madness, ok if we are all paying the same sort of money for cord then that's fine, the bit that worries me is that the end customer is going to be looking at paying £120 a cube I recon, and i believe that a lot just cant afford that.
