second-hand ms200t, or new 201t?

I dust of my old retired stihl 020 know and again to do small jobs for old time sake. You Old school on here will remember those saws. However I have just purchased a new ms201T..but I think its not got as much go in it like the 200. Or the ye old 020.

Either trawl through eBay for weeks to find a good ms200t (presumably there are some rubbish ones as well) with no warranty, or save your time walk down to a dealer and buy an underpowered (compared to old models) ms201t that is reliable. Can't please everybody.

I've got 2 x 201t, 1 x 150t and a ms200t...... the 200t doesn't see the light of day no more I've only keeped it as a backup saw just incase. I've had a few issues with the 201ts but nothing major and all done under warranty, mainly clutch springs and breathers leaking etc. saying that I've never had to repair anything on the 200t.

 

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another new 201t and I wouldn't personal want to buy someone's cast off 200t unless I know the history of the saw!

Thanks to all for the benefit of your experience. I reckon it's time to save the pennies up and pay Gusties a visit to buy a new 201t. Just got to work out which winch to put on Santas list now!

jet hoist have done fine by me, bujt it only comes out to play occaisonally. i have a makita dcs230t which i always use until i need a 60cc saw in tree. its only got a 10'' bar but since i have had it the 200t hardly comes out. so light!

It may be a waste of time as the the website could be out of date but for those crying out for a 200, I may have found you a new one-for you

Look on tinternet for Cambrian plant sales Cardiff. Click on new plant and then on Stihl. They got a shiny new one listed.

I loved my 020av super!! Wish I never sold it so much grunt and sounded like an angry hornet!
