Used fuel in both 535 brushcutter and 560 xpg today, smelt like when I'm about to start a race @ enduros, actually thought the brushcutter went better on it! Nice to try these things

Come to think of it, I had half of a five litre jug of the very same stuff a while back, left over from when I was running an NSR250.

 

I used it in my FS90 and some Shindaiwa hedge trimmer until it ran out and it seemed good stuff.

 

I might start some oil-sperimentation myself soon.

Went to local dealers today. Ordered 4 ltr of husky 2 stroke the standard not xp or LS over a week ago.Didn't have it in when I went.

They have to order a pallet if it in, so no show. I've always used it. I got the last lot from a dealer at Moffat in Scotland when u was on holiday.

 

All I said when the salesperson said they had to buy a pallet load was,

 

"I'd need to be somewhere more forestry based. To get it then"

 

From nowhere his colleague sprang out to say Morris 2HSS was a far better oil. Blah blah, on the defensive. Every new saw leaves the premises with Morris in it.

So for the first time I've bought alternative oil.

I use carlube 2 stroke, it says jaso fb on the back. I take it this is not what you would recomend. They did have an orange one that said jaso fd. so which one is best and why. ( i do run dolmar / maks by the way )

A couple of years ago we had a spate of mainly Stihl chainsaws brought in with scored pistons. They all came from the same area served by the same petrol station. It transpired that the garage sold a common brand of motor cycle oil , could have been Carlube, but certainly similar that the chainsaw owner was buying and using at 50:1. This is a mineral 2 stroke oil and the only mineral 2 stroke oil that I know is safe to use at 50:1 is Stihl HP or red, as far as I am aware oil other mineral brands need using at 25:1 The garage changed over to selling Oregon 2T oil and the saw problems stopped

Oil badged as synthetic or semi synthetic is generally for use at 50:1 , anything not labelled synthetic is usually mineral and hence requires double that amount of oil for a given mix quantity

Move on from Jaso FB oil folks, ditch the mineral with the exception of Stihl HP for run-in.

Just started 5l of Oregon now Jon looks ok, been on forestry recently all the old cutters swear on 500ml to 20l

I wouldn't even bother for run-in tbh, most of the manufacturers advise only running alkylate fuel from word go! That's rated as JASO FD.
