Was so nice yesterday, all I had to worry about was being in the rite place at 8am with mewp to help on a friends job and today being at the training centre to redo my IPAF ticket, quite relaxing compared to normal.

Old Mill Tree Care,

All I can say is that yes when you start out it is stressful. I have run a tree surgery business all my life and as the years role by you realise that broadly with trees there is nothing that you cannot sort out or rectify, or anything that is so urgent it cant be dealt with tomorrow (emergencies aside) so don't worry and go with the flow.

I find there are two types of tree:

1. You look at it, go away, come back to do the job and it's grown in size and awkwardness and there are suddenly more things underneath it.

2. You look at it, go away, come back to do the job and it's shrunk in size, become easier and all the things you thought were right underneath it are actually further away.

I much prefer the second type.

6 months ago for the first time in 20 years a job was keeping me awake, big turn over with tight profit. The job went from one cock up to the next and at times I could even feel the start of panic attacks. None of it helped by the fact I was necking 3 or 4 cans of strongbow in the evenings.

The conclusion I came to was a job you quoted for 3 days may turn into a week but its only money and some you win some you loose. The worst that can happen is you carry on tommorrow.

Nothing wrong with a few tins but it makes your brain race when you are asleep especially if you are stressed already.

 I tend now to look at my working life as a marathon rather than a sprint. If you do sprint and make lots of money two things could happen

1. you may get ill

2. you will pay lots of tax
