We only ever use head torches and headlights. It's no use having too much light as the climber is blinded and/or the groundies can't see what is going on aloft.

Good hi-viz clothing with intact reflective strips and decent led head torch. I use a bike light that has several brightness settings. The brightest is 320 lumens and this is good for inspecting though too bright for working. Get ones with usb charging.

Get battery powered and make sure they're charged. Nothing worse than turning off saws to talk then shouting over the generator.

When we did some night shifts we had battery lights and it was ace, until another team with generator lights joined us

That's another point about the generator lights - there is too much light

Peli do a nice set that extend and store in its case. Nice and bright LEDs with different settings but think the price would bring a tear to your eyes and wallet
