This is in a derelict hall, in a Village near me, its possibly the hall from Wuthering Heights. You could actually sit behind the fire.

 

a pub in york used to have a fireplace like that, the logs were stored under the seats

This is one I am building at the moment not the biggest I'am sure. It measures just over 8 ft by 5ft, the beam I milled from an oak from my own land.

It will be home to a Clearview 750 when completed.

That's a BEAUTY! Are they external windows in the back? Never seen like that before, nice!

No photos I'm afraid but the largest fire place I've seen was roughly 6' tall 8 ' wide and 5 ' deep and was purely an open fire in a farm house where i worked in Devon. Needless to say...log processing was very easy haha

That's a fair-sized fireplace at the bingley arms but you want to see the ones at Hazlewood castle.:thumbup1:
