Today has been a bad day - blower stolen from a back garden so I phone Jonesie's place to order another. I asked what I could get that could be delivered (since Stihl expect you to pay over the odds at hopeless local dealers) only to be told that Stihl have lifted a good part of their delivery ban.

From what I can gather if it is sharp and moves then you still need face to face but all spares, consumables and stuff the common idiot can't chop parts of their anatomy off with can now be sold on line or over the phone and shipped. I have to admit that I agree with the current stance on cutting machinery sales to the general public but will Stihl go further and lift the ban completely on proof of competence.

For me the 12 months of no on line sales has meant I now own 2 huskys which I wouldn't have had otherwise.

Stihl - At long bloody last!!

You've been able to get deliveries of non sharp Stihl machines and parts and peices for 3 or 4 months or so now. Some places still wont send things though.

I think if you can prove with tickets your competent you should be able to buy sharp stuff, Stihl are still down in my estimation

You should be able to buy saws and tophandles without tickets. Darwins law.

Officially? Right up to the APF Stihl were still adamant it was face to face for everything

I also agree but the advantage is making it hard for cowboys to get hold of gear and stoping rough work

I have to agree with that.

It has no advantage what so ever imo, you only need a mate with a ticket.
