Whooosh,, well impresed with my new 372xp. Nearly too good to be just used for fire wood !!

Very impressed with the lack of vibration, very smooth, and it has a real bite in the last 1/4 of the throttle. It also seemed very quick to rev, feels like it would take a bar bigger than 20'' with ease. Should be a good saw when its run in.

well i'll support the 361, its all ive used for 8 years now and would still be on my first one if had'nt got pinched.

good alround saw, light and easy on fuel. 18" bar is ideal as not to long to sharpen when hit metal or stone in wood.

good luck with your choice, but it is all personal preference

Not being funny mate, but the 361 didn't exist 8 years ago.

I'm not some kind of saw fascist, honest!:confused1:

Funny, I was using my Makita DCS7901 on ringing firewood all day today (24" bar) - not bad at all. Much cheaper than a 460 but probably no where near as tough so with your budget - MS460. (another vote for it!).

Yeah, that makita of yours surprised me mate. Very revvy, and i reckon a bit more torquey now it has had a bit more use. I did like going back to my trusted and fave saw ever....MS361. Could this be the perfect power/weight ratio, even with a 20" bar?:001_tt1::001_smile:

mainly as someone has started a thread on AS about it ;)

i love my 372xpw i run 24" mostly it works fine with this bar, im sure you will be happy with it, i ran mine in hard, ringing up a 40" dia windthrown ash and it seems to have done it no harm, i will be keen to try the 372stratocharged version when it comes out, should be a good saw
