Hi Rob,

I've recently bought a 'job lot' of nearly new Makita DCS 510s. I'd love to start milling - do you think two of these on a 50" bar would be a viable setup?

The manual says their maximum power is 3.3hp. Either a .325 or 3/8 pitch, but I'm not at home to check...

What do you think? :thumbup1:

I reckon these may have the K095 mount or similar in which case they won't work - but if the slot for the bars is 9mm then possibly but I think they may be too small for the large mounts on these bars even with spacers.

Thanks Rob. I'll check it out when I get home (end of the month) and PM you.

Hi would this system work with an 036 and 441 so it would and what would else would I need to buy to get started. Sorry to bother ye but I am a complete novice where chainsaw milling is concerned.

It would.... but a double ended set up is not for novice milling - too big a jump.

I would cut your teeth on a single mill to start with.

Rob
