Roundup to be banned in the UK, ?

Think it would be nice if Monsanto were banned outright...everywhere!

:) :)

It's an okay idea, as long as people supporting that idea are equally glad to accept soaring labor needs and cost rises that would go hand in hand with it. Unless they have acceptable alternatives that can completely replace it.

Not a good idea at all from a farmer who uses it a very bad idea it would cause us massive problems with economic crop production and the start of a very slippery slope remember this chemical is having a hard time because of the name monsanto and GM, another case of don't believe every you read plus its us is all about risk . Petrol if drunk is highly toxic and why would you drink it the same applies to this chemical why would you drink it ?

Just to clarify, are you saying banning Roundup is not a good idea?

If yes, is your sole justification economics?

For real??

The autos environmentalists drive are related to scores of pollutants and residual chemicals to make every component of the cars they drive. If the screamers about Monsanto were truly honest, they would all walk. The fact that so many won't pry their fingers from their cars, means their heads may be a long way up their dark bohunkas

For real??[/quote Bad idea no the economic argument I was thinking of was pushing up the price of food because there is a weed in arable farming could blackgrass this is becoming very difficult to control and its a yield robber but roundup helps to control it without... roundup vast areas of UK farmland become very difficult to farm .Roundup used professionally in safe hands is a very low risk chemical the problem arises from people like Friends of the earth and their dislike for genetically modified food because roundup is made by Monsanto which is heavy involved with GM food so try and ban roundup you stand a chance of no GM in this country plus you might sink Monsanto . The press gets hold of all this and causes a perfect storm plus most of the research done ie the most recent is done by someone who has agenda against Monsanto so...... Farming has used roundup for 40 odd years with no issues as others have said there is nothing to see here you have more dangerous chemicals under the kitchen sink but you treat them with respect the same here .You would ban bleech because someone choose to drink it .
