YOU CANT BUY DOLMAR IN THIS COUNTRY!

The price of a ps5105 is €600 so that renders importing from Germany useless, and importing from America means they don't have a CE stamp, and therefore not legal for use. Argue that it doesn't matter, but if an accident occurs whilst felling with the saw, and the HSE get involved, you'll feel the effects as a timber cutter!

I was chatting to the Makita guys at the APF, you can now get dolmar in the UK, just ask the dealer... They are exactly the same as the makitas though, just a different colour.

Its a shame they have stopped making the 7901 which was an awesome saw, and ideal firewood size, runs 18-14" bar..

Yes you can.

I got mine of a member on here brand new from Germany for a lot less than a husky! Plus after speaking to makita at the apf ALL makita dealers will niw be able to stock/order dolmar saws!!!!!

Oh and no need to shout.

They don't yet, that's the point! And my nearest makita power tool dealer is 30 miles away, so it's not like I can just pop round for parts! Stihl and husky on the other hand... I know of at least 5 within a 10 mile radius (one being L&S)

I think there are differences other than colour . Think TDC said carbs are different and mufflers sometimes . ?

Mak/dol man at the apf stated categorical that both were exactually the same just a different colour.

I got mine no problem and parts can be posted over night so I cant see a problem really.

That's all well and good, but the op sounds like a home/land owner type user. Once again, the tree cutters of arbtalk start suggesting the weird and wonderful when it comes to saw selection, where as the person who wants the saw doesn't need/want something that has no local supplier, parts support or technical support! I don't know what mechanical/repair skills anybody has, but not being able to fix an 051 suggests little experience, as these saws were designed by Andreas, so they last a long time and are designed to be fixed
