Certainly right there, thought in the opening shots this was a self loading machine to cut billets by the pack, seems not though.

Thats where billet cutting has to go, drop a whole pack into a machine with a loader and it slices up the whole pack automatically.

How about this? But with a larger hopper to catch the logs at the bottom of the conveyor!

I have now priced up some machines with the oxdale one being cheapest followed by ryetec, major and finally the balfor one from riko being the dearest. Like the look of it but is it worth the extra £450? Looking to buy within the next couple weeks so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

we use sawbench also for stuff upto 5 - 6" just wish we had gone for a conveyor version we drop the logs into tubs then have to lift into a bag makes it kinda slow, for the odd piece which is bigger we just turn it end on and cut in half with the saw.

Can u not put bag next to bench on a stand and just toss them in as u cut them thats how we do it

bag stands too high then when you put the bench onto pallets get the wrong height for working. hoping to change the conveyor though on the processor in the future so can just use that.

I'm in the sane situation just trying to do my research I haven't used one but I like the idea of the cradle on the oxdale thus being able to cut more than one at once opposed to the Riko one that looks like you can only put one bit in at a time. Oh also watch riko stuff they charge extra for PTO shaft and probably wheels too

Saw bench or hakki pilke eagle? Liking the idea of the eagle but will a rocking saw bench be quicker

Dunno how the eagle compares price wise to the other saw benches, but they are a great little machine.

The only criticism I have with them is that the log falls a long way for picking up (whether to then put it through the splitter or into a trailer/bag etc) and there's not enough room to make much of a modification either.

However, it's versatility and ease of use otherwise makes up for that I reckon. I'd be surprised if there was any noticable difference in production speed compared to a normal rocking saw bench when just using it as a sawbench too

Thanks Chris. I was wondering how the production speeds would compare.
