Another one bites the dust

Noticed this crack on my zillion today, just seems to of appeared from nowhere. Was using it yesterday and it was fine. I've been climbing on a zigzag for 6 months now and to be honest have lost a little faith in it.

I'm gutted as I love climbing on the device.

On a positive note I phoned honey brothers who I bought it off and they were amazing to deal with. I have a replacement already on its way, was offered a refund but think I'll give it another go. They've not even got my broken one back yet.

Would like to take the opportunity to thank honey brothers for such an excellent service. Anytime I have used HB I have received tip top service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

My zigzag also broke today but on one of the mid links. Used solidly for 6 months and treated with respect never dropped or cross loaded. Sending mine back tomorrow. A replacement every 6 months would keep loler happy at least.

It's good that they replace them hassle free but it is a concern. I climb on my zz daily and love the device, but in the back of my head I just think its a matter of time until I find a crack. I was told that petzl tested the zz @ zillion with broken links and it still works and holds but you wouldn't get me climbing on it.

Also not sure if it's the same with zz but there is a new model of zillion being released October with stronger rivets. Petzl are obviously aware there is a problem, I just hope no one gets hurt.

Keep safe lads

Good on honey's. Theres seperation in that crack that i've not yet seen on any of the other pics posted. Checking my zigzag daily and its still fine at the moment

Good observation there Steve.

I want one, but I am holding back until this is sorted, not for safety, but for the hassle of having to send it back, I just like stuff to be completely reliable.:001_smile:
