Thanks guys, i enjoyed it. just got to know what to do to the wood to stop it cracking (oil it and leave it to dry?)

 

I dont have the attachment to make goblets mick. would love to give it ago, one day.

he never did, he bought it cheap 5-8 years ago, and never used it till now. haha

I've just got in from playing on my lathe, threw the chisels across the workshop, got really niffed trying to hollow out a bowl and it kept grabbing.

 

Tried different chisels, lowering and raising the steady, speeding up, slowing down.

 

In the end it grabbed and threw the bowl I'd just spent an hour on.

Thanks ian, 2 have been turned green. they had been cut off that day.

 

If you put it in a bag with damp shavings and leave for a while that should help dry it out slower, I turned a goblet green and left it over night in morning it was split:sad: Sealing it with bees wax might help too. Microwave helps to but thats not easy.
