I have the alveo, it is a noticeable amount lighter than the vertex, however the plastic doesn't feel as sturdy. Will be replacing with either a vertex or a stein when time comes.

I'm on my third alveo now, very light and comfortable but definitely not sturdy. I just use mine as a climbing helmet, no chainsaw bits because it'd be useless if something went wrong with anything larger than silky sized wood. Think it might be aimed more at the industry market...

I have a vertex, strong good lid, but the alo versa on my list at the apf, reason being im a sweaty old beggar and with the bigger vent I am hoping this will help lesson the drip...

I've had 2 vertex and am now on my second alveo. Both are going strong just in different countries. I leave on there when I am working away.

I think it comes down to fit. I find the alveo sits better on me swede than the new vertexs do.

Try both before you choose.

Have had old vertex–great helmet–and now on a vertex 2 which is a pain because the head strap loosens so have to keep adjusting during the day. Even worse if I have gopro mounted on top.

Splashed out on a Protos Integral - love it.
