I've looked at most of them and they all seem to have their pros and cons, but I am worried about using a chainsaw and carving into the metal top plates and clamps.

Does anybody using these have some input ??

It's not difficult to make up a set of wooden sacrificial jaws that are oversize compared to the rubber ones that you will be replacing. :thumbup1:

Much the same as any standard bench vice really, in that sense.

Hi a lot of carvers I know use motorcycle lifts they can take a lot of weight and jack up and down quite far have a look on e bay they are about £150 I intend to get one as soon as my lean to is built check them out defo the best thing I have seen for holding carvings whilst working on them

I've got the triton one, pretty good but yes I clipped the metal once.

I'd like to adapt the legs so that you can tilt it or back or forwards a little.
