Hi

Pretty much as the title says. Anyone offer chimney sweep service as part of their rounds. If so what training if any did you do if any?

I'm considering offering a basic sweep for stove owners as a little add-on for my deliveries. 99% of my customers have 5-7kw stoves with liners.

Or is this something i should leave to dedicated boys.

I'm always looking for little extras to offer and business sidelines

Thanks in advance

Dave

I think you have to be a member of some chimney sweeps club to issue the certificates for insurance.

The bloke who does mine has never offered me a certificate for insurance, he just takes £42 for 20 mins work and goes.

Is that for one stove? Just need to know how much to knock off the wife's housekeeping when I sweep the our two. :001_tt2:

That is for the chimney swept on one open fire.

just bought the rods and brushes and will do both mine first then will see about advertising to do others - how hard can be. :)

What rod and brushes did you buy? I get the impression that standard drainage rods would be a bit too stiff for lined chimneys with bends? Or will they be ok?

I do chimneys elichimneyservices.co.uk if I was you I would get the training and insurance, soot in somebody's lounge can make a real mess (I've heard!) Try Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps.
