Echo CS360 TES top handled saw

I'm too old to climb everyday to be honest, the odd day subbing and the odd day for myself when I can pace it is fine and really the 360 works for me, I like the 501 but the 8002 is just too old school and really needs an update as it's simply too heavy and doesn't compare well with the Husky 576XP I had a chance to use

On the subject of my knocking the choice of others that isn't my intention but realistically on a thread about the saw I use I have to try to give my reasons for choosing it rather than just saying 'Oh they're the best' I don't think I've been overly if at all critical of Husky or Stihl or ever commented on a thread about either the 540 or 201.

I've used a variety of Husky and Stihl when working with others and didn't find any I didn't like, the 2 that stand out though are the MS200T and the 576XP, I'd gladly own either or both but for the aforementioned reasons I choose Echo, probably sentimentality isn't much of a reason too choose one thing over another but for lack of a better reason it'll do

p.s. if I came across as overly argumentative (No, really? :blushing:) I apologise, not trying to fall out with anyone.

Got myself another shindaiwa 360ts to go with the 2 we have been running for a couple years now. So far zero issues, aside from the bars being so hard they are nearly impossible to dress. Running a bar file over them is like running an ethics question past trump. Sure you like to try but your wasting time

R Mac are you happy with the oregon chains? Is it preference on cut or the price?

Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

Oregon is all I use, not because I think they're better/cheaper or anything like that, just easy to get hold of, I haven't used anything else and they seem just fine to me :001_smile:

I bought 2 Rotatech but waiting until my current chain is worn out before I try them.

Regarding the cut with Oregon, I find it a little aggressive on the 360 especially for a finishing/pruning cut, needs a bit of care but will probably be less aggressive once I've 'sharpened' it a few more times.
