I am a Redwood Jensen/Forst service dealer!

So I understand it Jensen would not

Produce any in between models to there range so hence the Forst was born! Therefore as Jensen don't make any chippers in the same range, there is no direct competition ...

Is it a chipper, is it a mower or another broken stump grinder who cares we'll fix it!

Yeh I know they both make a 6" chipper

It's the future models which are meant to be different

But that only going on what I've been told so it maybe all a load of bullocks!!

I've just found out about the little trailer that Greenmech do for their 6" tracked chipper. What a great idea for making things easy and keeping the chipper low so that it can be fed on the trailer.

I wonder if Forst will do the same thing?

Oh, and a fold down chute for people that store in shipping containers.

Yeah its a nice idea but is costly and is only good for carrying one thing.

You're right but I was thinking of people like me who need a tracked chipper for only 10-20% of jobs annually.

A funky little trailer like that would keep it like a tow-along for most of the time and give the flexibility of a tracked when it's needed.

Maybe I'm off the mark and just thinking out loud.

  • 1 month later...

I just had a demo of the ST8. Not much I can say really.

It's a scaled up version of the ST6 with a really good sized hopper.

We didn't have anything very interesting to put through it but it will obviously do the job just as it's supposed to.

I'd buy one.

I asked Matt why the infeed is 8x10" and not wider. He said that if the infeed is too wide, relative to everything else, flex on the flywheel can occur. Makes perfect sense of course which is why when chippers get big, they become drum chippers.

Anyway, really good solid well thought out chipper. I don't think there's anything else on the market that can match the build quality at the size.
