Well he told me he doesn't go out boozing as its £15 a pint. But he doesn't have much time to play as its 14 hour days.

14 hours days, that's fitting 2 days in one! £250 a day is £125 in real terms! :confused1:

But good if you just want to get your head down work and save on short to medium term.

And they don't work all year round though.

One thing is, here in Frenchy France you can buy a decent house already renovated by a Brit at a keen price because the market is swamped with expats desperate to sell their properties.

For around £60K a family home that would cost you £250K back in Angleterre.

If the whole point is to make and save money rather than the experience surely you'd be better living minimally over here. Something like a narrow boat or static caravan for a couple of years while you save.

Bang on:thumbup1: Get your head down, trim up the outgoings and get on a mission. Short term hardship for a long term gain.

What about further up the country up on the North Coast up near the Channel Ports to make travel cheaper?

Life is cheap enough here to be able to save money.

Your kid is worth 184euros per month IF your in the French tax system.

Social housing, ours is a very smart and dirt cheap.

Tax credits for 'modest income' earners.

Markets for all your food.

Weather is warmer in Winter up here and the Summers are just dandy.

What's not to like?

Ty

Do you need to be able to speak the language? My French is less than basic, but I'd be happy to learn it if necessary...
