Hi all, im after some advice.

All my wood is arb arrisings, not much any good for a processor.... i bring back 3-10" in lenghts but bigger stuff is ringed up.

I bought a 10t splitter a few years back to run off my old tractor and its doing "ok" but i find a few problems with it :

Cant shove the log all the way back for the ram

also the splitting blade is very short! and as the log doesnt sit all the way back you have to be tactical on where or which side you offer up to the splitter! other wise you end up spelching the end of the log and not splitting!!!

I dont know what makes are the ones to go for nor what is out there!

I would like a good cycle speed, more power and a better longer blade so splits in one, not having to turn the log around!!!

any help would be great thanks

From memory, I recall concluding these were the dogs dangly bits FOR SPLITTING RINGS see:

Time-saving Wood Splitters and Bundlers | Commercial & Private Use

Logs fall off into bulk bags, or a bulk bag on one side and an elevator on the other.

The key was the absolute lack of lost time, with the splitter working in both directions.

Pure poetry in motion, from the demo my cynical eye saw anyway.

Downside of that is the ring would need to be of a shorter length to finish up with optimum size logs, either that of split at 1m and recut.

I would suggest if you have a processor then use the splitter to produce one meter lengths in a diameter to suit the processor.
