Massey F 35X hydraulic flow rate

Has anyone had any success from using the pto pump and hydraulic tank etc from an old tractor flail hedge trimmer, ie using one with the arm and flail head removed. With it already being 3 point linkage mountable, it would seem to be well on the way to being usable as a good source of hydraulic power.

Treequip know more than most, perhaps he knows - plenty of oil in that huge resovoir to keep the setup cool, thats for sure!

We sell 22ton 6hp petrol log splitter on a 5/10 mph trailer chassis which split vertical or horizontal £1500+

Is it a chipper, is it a mower or another broken stump grinder who cares we'll fix it!

Just wondering on the cycle time on that splitter, I am not having a poke at it, but it must be slow as I have a 9t with 13hp and wouldnt want anything slower, or anything with more force, as it has enough force to slice through rough bits when they wont split.

I use my P.F 12" stroke splitter on my JD6400 which is about 70 Litres/Minute.

At 1200 rpm its not fast but acceptable, however not very economic(100 Hp)

So if you aim for 40-50 litres at idle I'm guessing the 35xPTO speed will be about 270 rpm.

It would be interesting to know what your actual flow is after 50 years of wear.

18ltrs / min @ 2500psi after 50 years - tested it Friday!

Presumably that was at full throttle and would be only be about 1/3 of that at idle.

My silage bales are wrapped with a diesel power pack , from a road gritter , bought off ebay.It has a tiny little engine that will work all day on a couple of gallons , producing more flow than the old ford 6600 we used to run it on.
