Thinking of adding a tree stump removal to our company do many people offer the service etc is there much work out there

 

Also what's the best grinder to go for

Always good to offer extra services to customers plus it's another revenue stream.

As for which stumpy to go for depends on how you will be transporting it (& budget), if most of your work is domestic then you need a machine which will fit through gates, doorways & on occasions through a house.

The more powerful, the more productive.

I use a small machine which I can lift in & out of my truck & has suited my needs perfectly, but takes a little longer to grind than the next size machine.

You can only buy a machine if it's the cheaper alternative to hiring or subbing it to Stumpbusters etc.

You need to work out your overheads im terms of your time, machine cost to run and maintain and to pay for. Also your insurance overheads etc. Only upu will no what your overheads are and how much profit you want to make off a job.

I charge as much as I think I can get away with.

You should do the same.

Don't give your clients presents, they won't do the same for you.

Plus NEVER be tempted to do a stump for free just cos your on site.

It's not just fuel and teeth but all that hidden wear and tear, belts, bearings, grease, oil changes and depreciation.

Just stop mithering and buy one.

Why do you have to be cheaper than s busters? They can't be everywhere at the same time.
