Hey thinking of getting a ms 150. I know they are only a dink toy but a lad ive worked with has one and he loves it. Says its good for topping conifers, some dead word and small trees. I think it will be ideal for me seen as im fairly new to climbing. And I currently have a top handle echo but the bastard is heavy and seems a over kill for some of the trees I do. And ive sort of waved the 150 around in the shop and its like holding a stihl toy saw. Just though id get a second oppion. What does everyone think?

The 150tce is perfectly capable for 90% of the reductions we do. I'm a utility arborist so it does just fine for my clearance jobs. I love it as it saves taking a 201 and a silky and you barely feel it on the harness. It leaves lovely pruning cuts and the chains are cheap so why not. It's not a 201t but it's horses for courses and if your gonna 1 hand then far better with a 150tce than a 201t!

Yeah I know its not the most powerful of saws buts its good to hear it can handle some decent jobs. I have found a place I can get one up north for 350 so pretty tempted. Also just bought a ms261c so I reckon thats a nice little set up for someone just starting up on their own.

I have a 150t and I absolutely love it. It still surprises me with its ability. Used it to take down a silver birch last week stem was 12 inch or so and the saw coped very well. Only used it as the chocolate bar on the husky is pooped and waiting new 1. Great for pruning jobs and reductions

I'll echo that with a hole in the exhaust it's a totally different little beast!
