Lets assume its leylandii or similar and not forget that any active nests are protected

So if it is a leylandii and there are no active nests then it is alright to just cut the top off and tidy it up a bit

They are tolerant of all but the most brutal "pruning"

Be careful getting out of your depth happens quick and it always hurts

Unless you know what your doing don't start climbing chap, if it goes all Pete tong and the top falls the wrong way or you slip etc and you haven't got any ropes it's gonna fast drop too the ground. But if it is a leylandii they are fine too top... Or better too remove as they are bloody horrible

I have plenty of ropes and safety equipment to use as a am an avid climber. However, i have access to a boom lift. That is how I was planning to do it.
