  4. I have plenty of ropes and safety equipment to use as a am an avid climber. However, i have access to a boom lift. That is how I was planning to do it. Slacky2
  5. So if it is a leylandii and there are no active nests then it is alright to just cut the top off and tidy it up a bit slacky2
  6. Ok ill post some this weekend when i get home Slacky2
  7. My mum still has our wood burning stove going. even though it is too warm for it
  8. Not quite sure. all i know is that they are evergreen. sorry i know that doesn't really help
  9. The old neighbours complained about the view. However, they now want them gone because they block the light into their house and garden.
  10. Braintree council but only so long as the haulage company where there. He has spoken to the council and they have said that since the company is no longer there then the trees can be taken down. no the trees arent protected. its not part of a conservation area
  11. There used to be a haulage company based there and the people that used to live in my neighbours house complained because he didn't like to look out his window and see a load of trucks. but the haulage company is no longer there and so the land owner doesn't care what happens to the trees. I am meeting with him soon as to whether I can take the trees down completely Slacky2
  12. I am away from home at the moment. i will post picks this weekend. The tree can only be seen by us and the neighbours as the farm house is no longer lived in. I have access to a big chipper that i will use and then we will be putting the chips on the garden. The trees are in an unused farm yard so there is plenty of room around them Slacky2
  13. the neighbours were quoted 600 for three trees that is why they asked me.
  14. My neighbour has some trees at the end of the garden that block a lot of light from coming into their house. As I frequently fell trees for firewood they asked me if I would do it. However, the trees are on land that belongs to the farm behind our houses and as a result they only have permission to take the tops off so that they are the height of the ones next to it. I am on good terms with the land owner and have asked him whether he wants them to look good or whether he doesn't mind and, as he no longer lives in the farm house and he had to put the trees there when his brothers haulage company was there, he said he doesn't mind how they are done. Anyway, I just wanted to know if it is alright to just take the tops of trees off or if it will hurt the tree. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do it would be much appreciated. Many Thanks Slacky2
