we've just bought our second echo and i think they are a good quality pruner but parts are very expensive and we've had a few issues with shaft bearings but that was down to water ingress I've never used tanaka but what I've heard they are also very good

The most important consideration when choosing a power pruner is that you buy an Easy Lift Harness at the same time.

Ha Ha yes have thought about that, I have the usual 50+ aches and pains!! Where are u in Horley, I was born and bred there.
