HELP WANTED: Building log store/barn and need some poles in Sussex

Morning all,

 

I have just secured a new yard and i need to throw up a barn/log store a bit sharpish. Problem being that i have no cordwood longer then 8-10ft and i would need a few poles approximately 12ft long and 5-8" diameter just as uprights. Was wondering if anybody local could help.

Try chestnut on here think she is near southampton. Do you think chestnut would be better than used telegraph poles ? I am thinking of putting up a shed but only 9ft high

I would use old telegraph poles, used to be able to get them from a company at Rudgwick.

 

Try Beacon fencing, don't think they stock them but they might be able to source for you.

 

For chestnut,try cgw chestnut. Think they are in Midhurst area.

 

Failing that a reclaimed materials yard or landscape supplies company.

I look forward to your progress I am about to start building one but only 9ft high. Would be interested in what fixings you are using and joint methods.
