I dont think a significent SFP comes into it, a small place, and the owner aint so stupid as to rob Peter to pay Paul.

PS

Each to their own, but "yer man" the French operator is, I suspect paying gie dear to change every 3000 hours.(seeing as forestry machinery is routinely expected to do 30,000 hours)

The lower operating costs, and therefore hire-out costs, ONLY come with higher hour machines.

I/we did have some down time, but the machine was absolutly new to the contractor.

regards

marcus

I will try and find the invoice and check, I could be wrong, but not by much.

Remember the NI housing market collapsed ABSOLUTLY big time, with a knock on effect on rates chargable.

Would also be one reason I dont be bothered buying my own digger.

cheers

m

PS

We did feed an water the Operator.

So he provided a man, 13 tonner and diesel for £30 an hour?

How many on here would provide a man and chipper for that??

If someone charges £250 a day based on an 8 hour day it is roughly £30 an hour.

Ca MARCHE!

Despite the rain we have some 80tonnes of 0-31 stone laid over geotextile with the rest delivered tomorrow making it up to 200tonnes or more.

Our new headquarters are road side and should be a very effective advert in itself once we have landscaped.

Aside from our chips and wood I shall be planting a hornbeam hedge and several styles of garden to show potential clients as one day when I am too decrepit to climb I shall potter about with herbaceous perennials and garden design.
