HELP Mini digger running problems

I have mini digger with a 3 cylinder perkins engine and when you either drive up a hill, on to the trailer or a sudden jolt it either cuts out or miss fires badly so you cannot operate it. Have checked filters and changed. Fuel tank is clean (checked with small inspection camera). Some times it works fine all day and some times its a total git and is doing my head in. Any ideas or advice would be a great help before I start hitting it with a big hammer :001_smile:

Check the wires running to the fuel cut off on the pump. Take off all connections, clean them and if necessary close up the female ends so they connect more snuggly.

Sounds like it might be the culprit.

This sounds right to me - it is quite possibly an electrical fault. Check also that any fuse carriers aren't corroded, and look at wiring to the key.

Sounds like cut off issue, had same with jcb micro, works 98% of the time, traced it to wires where they go into the shut off solenoid, cracked inside insulation just where they go into the solenoid, give it a wiggle while running, if it dies thats your problem…..,hope this helps!

so,frustrating, felt like getting out the firelighters:cussing:

So. Changed the fuel filter today and noticed the inline hand primer didn't seem to be working (no resistance) Blew fuel line with air back tank then blew air back into hand primer. Fitted all back together and there was resistance in the hand primer and fuel was being drawn through. Got it running. Been up and down me chipping pile and moved a load. Didn't miss a beat. One question. Could the hand primer be removed ?
