itemised quotes/estimates

Alright guys n gals.

I priced a job recently for re-turfing a front lawn and putting in a new 3' boundary fence. I quoted £x for the job in total including materials. I get a little discount from my supplier but i see that as my discount not the clients. he wants a detailed breakdown of costs with paperwork from the supplier and as you can gather im a bit reluctant to do this as it will show the materials as being cheaper and my labour seem expensive....... what do you guys make of my dilemma??

Agree with IC, it's your goods and services he's purchasing - not your suppliers. Don't show your costs to anyone, give your complete price of £x per metre for the fence and he can say yes or no.

Incidentally this kind of behaviour screams very difficult customer and you've not even started, not the end of the world if you don't get the job.

Can you not get your supplier to print out a retail price quote for you without your discount on it? I'm sure that they wouldn't mind if it means that they might get the order.

That's what I'd do or tell him to poke his job

Just what I was thinking, some people are more trouble than they're worth
