Always wanted a decent place for a vice and as we do a lot of woodland/river work without the chipper it had to be on the truck. This was about the best way I could think of.

(Haven't welded for a while so no comments on that please!) ImageUploadedByArbtalk1398014015.318612.jpg.d2c770c9eff531ef9388613c035b1eb4.jpg

Pukka. Don't spoil it by not painting it.

I've made a mount up for mine so it fits into the hole where the dropside supports go in the truck or trailer body. Also made similar to mount a cement mixer on.

Thinking about it, you could have done the same on your tipper! It's a lot stronger as there's none of the leverage like in yours. It's also a far more comfortable position, I set it about the same height as the workbench.

Like that . Better than my " birds poop " welding . Seen similar but not down there . Filing on you knees perhaps . Still good though ...

I was going to mount it on the tipper body but this was slightly easier and I quite like being over the saw when I sharpen so the height is not an issue. The bracket it's attached to is pretty bomber and I will prob add a brace at some point

Will this count? Perfect hight for me as can't cope with kneeling down any more to sharpen saws

sent while pretending to do something important on my mobile.

Very nice idea, will you put some sort of cover on the vice to stop it getting rusty in wet weather? oh I wish I could weld!!

Yeah was thinking of cutting up an old dry bag to make a cover for it, stop it getting covered in muck as well. Welding is one of things I put off learning for years and then one day decided it was time to have a go. Absolutely love it, opens up so many opportunities to make different things. Luckily my dads a farmer/ag engineer/machinery sales so has all the gear you'd ever need.

Nice one, always keep my winch covered on my land rover and has paid for itself. Got to look after ya kit. Must look into doing a welding course!!
