Pimping my ride...

Arb style

Always wanted a decent place for a vice and as we do a lot of woodland/river work without the chipper it had to be on the truck. This was about the best way I could think of.

(Haven't welded for a while so no comments on that please!) ImageUploadedByArbtalk1398014015.318612.jpg.d2c770c9eff531ef9388613c035b1eb4.jpg

Pukka. Don't spoil it by not painting it.

I've made a mount up for mine so it fits into the hole where the dropside supports go in the truck or trailer body. Also made similar to mount a cement mixer on.

Thinking about it, you could have done the same on your tipper! It's a lot stronger as there's none of the leverage like in yours. It's also a far more comfortable position, I set it about the same height as the workbench.

Like that . Better than my " birds poop " welding . Seen similar but not down there . Filing on you knees perhaps . Still good though ...

Very nice idea, will you put some sort of cover on the vice to stop it getting rusty in wet weather? oh I wish I could weld!!

Yeah was thinking of cutting up an old dry bag to make a cover for it, stop it getting covered in muck as well. Welding is one of things I put off learning for years and then one day decided it was time to have a go. Absolutely love it, opens up so many opportunities to make different things. Luckily my dads a farmer/ag engineer/machinery sales so has all the gear you'd ever need.
