i have just been given the hi viz orange strech airs for working on the railway as a climber but they are a far bit heavier than my hi flex, also there is not as much give in the croch as the hi flex.

i had the th stretch airs but the zip just kept busting wide open and its not right having all that sawdust in there! i tried 6 different pairs

im in the Hiflex now and i find them the better pant to climb in!

thing is every climber is different with different climbing styles! best thing to do buy and try is your best option

Worn the hi flexs since they came out the pair im on now are still in really good nick surprisingly and i do like them. BUT i got a pair of Stretch air As about a month ago and really rate them so far. Do miss not having a back pocket though. Got mine from gustards they seem to be the cheapest...still bloody expensive though.

No back pocket? Where am I going to keep my cash?

Oh, that's right. I will have spent it all on my new trousers....

A pair of army lightweights over the top of ballistics will make them last years, and when they do go at the crotch it doesnt matter!

Hi-flex for me, but i do put a pair of light combats over them as above when im doing conifers it saves them quite well, we use to do this when forestry felling as your ballistics got wrecked stacking pulp/pallet wood. Its a good tip.

As Joe said there has already been a thread on this which again SWB raved about the heavy cumbersome uncomfortable Stretchless Airs! :hmmmm:

IMO its whatever you feel comfortable in while climbing, which for me is hi-flex all the way, like climbing in trackies compared to the strtches. :001_smile:

I've had 3 pairs of the hi flex and thought I'd try the stretch airs. They do feel very tough but it does feel the same as when I had waterproof trousers on over my high flex! Don't know if I'd get them again.

stretch airs for me i wont ever buy hi flex again they are just not tough enough

airs are far stronger and slightly less stretchy but they last better by far

stretch airs thicker and more cumbersome than the hi-flex, i have to wear a belt cuz of the weight of them which pees me off, so i always go with hiflex
