First stump grinder

I bought my first grinder about 2 years ago danequip 25sp self propelled same as the similar dosko, rayco and Carlton machines only cost £2k and earns me thousands every year brilliant machine and has only needed one minor repair (sub £200) other than the usual belts and other wear items. Go as big as you can, but I'd keep it pedestrian for the access if your only going to have one. Yesterday mine did a 18" EUC stump similar sized conifer 15" apple some small palms and 4ftx2ft patch of Acubas in about an hour and a half, if you keep a pedestrian machine sharp and with tight belts they can give some great production!

That hb20 really does look great, it does to be honest need too be pedestrian any bigger and I can generally get my 5 tonner in... I've heard a lot of great things about bandit machines (never used one personally) so will have a look about one, any ideas what one will set me back, the dealers site says price on application, just a ball park figure would be brilliant

Calton sp2010

29" wide will handle big stumps and destroy little stumps, get in touch with orange plant,

You can get an ex demo for about £4500 £5000 little more than your budget but well worth it, you got the best of both worlds then

Hi Jamie, HB20 seems to be sweeping the market. Will do any size stump & 99% of access is possible. Only new 25" machines available & now a waiting list, I do have new 29" versions + one used one due in soon, also a hb19 back end of this week. Below shows access of demo today in Bournemouth.ImageUploadedByArbtalk1396388160.622655.jpg.1cb5201e42867710ec128cbd15eece69.jpg

I don't think the photos do justice of how steep that was. Call me on 07730000498 or pm me.

The thing that separates the grinders now is ease of use, I have had small push along grinders and while great to start out with you soon out grow them, they are hard work to manovere and use. The Carlton SP 2010 is a good machine but it still has the wheel brake to allow the sweep rather than a central pivot. I had a Carlton SP2010 for 2 years and found it hard work, I had a Carlton 4012 and being remote control it was excellent but was too big for a lot of gardens. I had a rayco rg13 and that was a good machine but not enough power. If you take all the good bits from those machines and add them into 1 you get the HB20. It's got to be the best pedestrian grinder on the market . Try one or look at the video on line.
