Stupid mistake nearly went very bad

Yup- good of you to admit it- it is a killer incident for big tree climbers, experienced or no, specialy on sappy species, I keep it in my head to bore the hinge an sapwood nip the sides, tiz worth it just to remember yrself. Glad you walked away from that one.

Glad u ok mate. Big leaners are tiring at the best of times and I know the feeling of wanting to cut corners in order to finish.

Had 2 moments myself today at about 10ft! Tied into some epi on a hazel hedge only to have 2 stems an inch thick peel out (rope was around both), same happened 10 mins later after i'd transferred to a holly - sprouts peeled off in my hand! Was roped up and nicely wedged in but the hazel was a bit of a surprise.

2nd time I've done it. 1st time I was 17 and felled down the stairs, also pissed up.

 

Weird though that the was the pain gets worse, reduced a Lime on Thursday and wasn't too bad. Rigging down an Ash today was agony, had to stop and go to Hospital after work.
