Only 30,000 trees too late! Tree Jack.

Recommended Posts

Just seen these advertised on here. I knew there was something like an acrow-prop around but boy, the grief this would have saved me hand cutting over the past few years; unthinned stands, drawn timber, mild back-lean needing more shove than a felling bar and less hassle than a sledge and wedge in small wood...

Dear Santa (this is the first time I've wanted something work related for Christmas!)....

I use one, does have its limits, its bulky, not good on dead trees (used it on a slight back leaning dying/dead spruce, just ended up popping it up off the hinge resulting in te tree going backwards)

But very effective once you use it a bit

Those prices are a bit steep

We've one at work and it's ace. Bit cumbersome to cart about but it's amazed me at some of what we've shoved over with it. So much less effort than wedes and felling levers. It's a 3 I think.

There were a few floating about on ebay quite cheap (very cheap compared to he prices in link) but they've all gone

They are lovely but v expensive and useless in small tall timber where the stick is barely big enough to accomodate a guide bar behind the gob.
