Petzl Pantin

I have recently had my climbing kit inspected but my petzl patin is not on the loler sheet, is it not needed to be done because its only a climbing aid????

Quick simple answer to anyone who knows i dont

Arent they just !- An I use mine as an aid to position too- a nice little step-up some times

Nor are ascenders but some people still check them,I was given one to inspect while doing my loler course & as you say they arnt PPE they should be checked in my opinion

Surely ascenders have to be checked?

i thought ascenders were, the pantin wasn't as its an aid and not designed for life support

Heres mine its a bit worn and modified.

When you use Ascenders you have to have a back up like a 6 wrap prussik. I personally check ascenders & pantins even though they are aids.
