Entec Kohler engine won't run properly

Hi lads,

Wondering if you could shed a little light on my problem. I've got a entec chipper with a petrol Kohler 22hp a think, it starts up, runs fine for a few seconds buts the revs lower and sometimes cuts out. I've had the carb cleaned in a proper tank and the in line fuel filter is clean, just not sure what else to check?

 

Any help greatly appreciated

It sounds like it needs the ignition coils doing I had the same problem with my 25 hp and if the coils are same I have a brand new set spear.

ditto ash01 had same problem and had to replace one of the ign coils

to get it to run upto speed more power etc

 

MAY BE BEST TO TEST THE SPARK STRENTH WHILE ITS RUNNING PULL A PLUG LEAD AND LISTEN TO ENGINE TONE CHANGE IT MAY EVEN PICK UP AS THE SPARK SHOULD JUMP FURTHER AS THE PLUGLEAD IS PULLED AWAY IF THERES NO CHANGE THEN THAT COULD BE YOUR FAULT GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU GET SORTED SOON

Check for crap in the tank could be blocking fuel flow

check engine oil level my entec chippit did the sam thing at the weekend when the chipper was nt sitting on level ground . it would start and run for a minute or so then die and stop. checked oil on level ground which was a tad low making the oil alert switch it off
