No they are not the same. If I had a £1 for every time I have to explain this...

I've got a 2012 PS-5105 and a 2012 Mak DCS5031.

1) The Dol has the "red-power" carb; self tuning bigger carburretor; the Mak has other - will take pics when I get the time.

2) The Dol has a cat muffler, the Mak does not. Dol still goes better due to above.

3) They have slightly different ignition coils (again will take pics).

4) Have different air cleaners. Mak came with additional flocked filter.

5) Different recoil; dol came with easystart

That's quite a few differences already and that's not all of them.

Shavey, help me!

as T,C,D says they are very different all the things mentioned above are true for the proffesional saws that i have seen the dolmar appears to have more cutting power and i could be wrong but i would say that the new dolmar range have been under valued and under used in the proffesional world of outdoor power products :thumbup:

I would gladly try one and am convinced by TDC and shavey as they are pros and know whats what . Only problem is I have a full fleet of Huskys most of which are spud ported . Having said that thee Dolmars look the business and obviously do the business . So if I was starting from scratch they would be at the top od the list .....
