I looked in to mowi cranes a while ago i think they are ok but you need a lot of height to opperate them as they don't boom out they say that they are a faster system but i ended up getting a botex roof mounted and had no problems with that i would recomend botex to anyone.

as for mowi i think that if you are working up close to the machine then boom height could be an issue

Hi, I used a mowi crane on a self propelled Hafo woodchipper for 2 1/2 years and it was brilliant, but I was only picking up lightweight brash and 1st thinnings pine. It was very fast and brilliant for repetative movements but was not very good if you needed to pick up anything with a bit of weight in it. I think the Botex would be a far better option and certainly stronger built. Nothing wrong with a mowi, but must be on the right application!

if you are thinking roof mounted make sure the base unit is tiptop i would recomend a new valtra with reverse drive i bought second hand and it nearly sent me under with a hydraulics problem £30000.00 in three months in repair costs and only managed about 1 weeks work in that time so beware! you can get a new machine with fantastic deals and you have all the warranty

i knew the previous owner, he sourced the tractor himself and then got calidonian forestery services to build it. he kept his kit immaculate, that was the only reason i bought mine second hand. he had a trained operator on it and no one else, i new to many folk with pigs in pokes.:sneaky2::001_smile:
